Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves & Steve Rotheram Visit Prima Group Properties Benefiting From Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund

We were delighted to show Keir Starmer, Leader of the Labour Party; Rachel Reeves, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer; and Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region; around a couple of our properties in Bootle benefiting from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) on Sunday.

We’re extremely proud to be showing the work we’ve been completing with our contractors, Ecogee, to such high-profile figures.

As a housing association with a history of 50 years, you can see our commitment to the customers and communities we serve, providing affordable, safe and quality homes for families, single people, over 55s, key workers and shared ownership homes. Additionally, our Prima Commercial arm works on profit-for-purpose, generating additional income to support our charitable aims.

Although we are proud of our history, we remain in the present. Our partnership work with Sefton Council, Ecogee and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is an example of this. Through this partnership, we have been able to access funding from the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), which helps with the costs of improving the energy efficiency of our homes.

We are determined to meet net zero carbon targets not only to make them warmer and more cost-effective for our tenants - but also for the benefits the work will bring to the environment. The feedback from the 115 homes where we are currently carrying out the decarbonisation work has been overwhelmingly positive. Furthermore, it has reduced our customers' energy bills during a challenging economic period.

We are looking to secure further opportunities to improve energy efficiency across all our homes in the near future.
