Meet Our Apprentices | National Apprenticeship Week 2023

We are celebrating National Apprenticeship Week and would like to thank our two apprentices, Ava and Harvey, for all their hard work so far.

Ava

Ava is studying Business Administration (Level 3) and joined Prima Group in September 2021. Ava is due to complete her apprenticeship shortly and has been offered a full-time role with Prima and will be going on to study her Level 3 CIPD in September 2023.

Ava first joined Prima Group having a taste of all areas of the business, before settling into the HR & Group Services department. Ava has excelled here and is a valued team member - involved in servicing the recruitment process, arranging training, and monitoring/ordering office supplies and PPI clothing, to name just a few.

Ava says: "When I first joined Prima in 2021, it was a few months after I left school. Before that, I had never worked in a work environment before. Everyone at Prima welcomed me with open arms and made me feel safe and included from day one. I've had opportunities to work across the business, which has helped me pass my exams throughout my apprenticeship."

"It’s now coming to the end of my apprenticeship and I have enjoyed every step of the way learning new skills and will be taking on a new challenge in my new role."

Harvey

Harvey started with Prima nearly four months ago as a Finance Apprentice. He has settled brilliantly into the role, taking on tasks to assist other members of the Finance Team. Harvey is studying his Level 3 AAT, attending college once a week. He is progressing well and has already passed some of his exams.

We understand that for apprenticeships to be successful, line manager engagement and support are essential. Harvey will benefit from gaining hands-on experience whilst studying for his qualification.

Harvey says: "I have worked as a Finance Apprentice at Prima Group for just under four months now, although it feels much longer than that. I have settled in well and have felt welcome by all staff at the company. I am studying AAT and have already achieved my Level 2 Bookkeeping qualification, moving on to Level 3 Accountancy."

"I have made amazing progress in such a short amount of time, considering I had no prior experience in Finance. I understand my role, and I am proficient at my day-to-day tasks. I am more than happy and feel like I am in the right place."
