Leasowe United: Funding for Local Community Groups or Individuals

Leasowe United Community Cafe - event thursday 4th August millennium centre 12-3

On Wednesday 19th October 2022, community groups and individuals from Leasowe will come together at an event where they will have the chance to secure funding to help create safer communities by reducing anti-social behaviour and protecting vulnerable people.

Hosted at the Kingsway Academy Building, each group/individual will give a two-minute pitch explaining their idea for a project that will tackle issues from crime, anti-social behaviour and protecting vulnerable people.

Their peers in the audience will then vote on the groups/individuals they feel should receive the money. This 'Dragon's Den' style event offers the chance for groups/individuals to be awarded up to £5,000 from a larger pot of £30,000.

If you're a member of a Leasowe-based community group or individual and want to help create safer and stronger neighbourhoods, please complete an application form linked below.

If your application is selected, you will be contacted by Leasowe United PB and invited to take part in the event. People have until 9 am Friday 9th September 2022 to apply.

Members of the Leasowe community are also invited to attend the event so they can cast their votes. If you'd like to attend, please email: leasoweunitedpb@merseyside.police.uk

Funded by the Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner, Merseyside Police, Op Medusa (Govt Funded County Lines Initiative) and Prima Group, this will give the community the opportunity to influence the way issues that matter to them are tackled.

The event will also give the chance for attending groups/individuals to network with others, making connections with other people dedicated to improving the lives of members of their community.

Leasowe United follows on from the success of Kirkby Together & Huyton and Stockbridge Village Together, which saw groups bidding for funding which addressed serious violence.
